Before & After School Program

Before school children check in and breakfast is provided. Children may choose to engage in activities or watch television prior to being transported to their designated schools. Children enrolled in our after-school program are picked-up from their designated schools and provided with homework assistance. Tot Spot is an academically based program, so children are encouraged to engage in homework activities. A snack is provided and after children complete their homework and at least 20 minutes of reading in AR books which are developmentally appropriate for the child, children choose to participate in indoor or outdoor activities at the facility. Children are encouraged to read from AR books from their school's library or from the AR books at Tot Spot's library which coincide with Hemet Unified School District's AR Lists, per school. Our children are encouraged to choose books according to their reading level which we obtain from reports generated from their schools and/or our collaboration with their perspective K-12 teacher. Children are also encouraged to discuss the books read with after-school teaching staff at Tot Spot to not only prepare them for the AR quizzes available at their perspective schools, but also to improve their reading and comprehensive skills.
