FULL DAY CHILD CARE & PRESCHOOL:
Note: Children who are enrolled at Tot Spot Daycare and Preschool for the full day program and who are between the ages of 2-1/2 to 5 years old will automatically be included in the 1/2-day preschool program and they will have access to age appropriate activities throughout the day which will also include a fundamental learning tool - PLAY. While working with infants and toddlers from one year on up to 2-1/2 years old, we will continually introduce language while using sound such as in songs, storytelling, or book reading, or when using words and gestures.Learning centers are being developed for our newly implemented infant/toddler program. As infants and toddlers mature, it is imperative that we utilize teaching strategies to introduce additional learning opportunities thereby extending and enhancing their skills.

Please note the subtle effect of the curricula: For instance, with respect to the different curricula noted above (i.e. Curriculum III), we continually introduce the preschoolers to basic academic areas but in an enthusiastic and non-pressuring manner, which will enhance their abilities with reading readiness, math, and science, as well as to further develop their social skills to better prepare them for kindergarten.
*Circle Time is a transition period as well as a time when children and teachers socialize about the community. We discuss issues and events such as about the people who live and work in a community. Also, the children socialize about who they live with. We utilize this time to read and discuss stories, or to perform puppet shows and discuss the show before transitioning to either art and crafts, or music and movement, dramatic play, or any of the other developmentally appropriate curricula.
POTTY TRAINING:
**We perform potty checks throughout the day to remind potty trained toddlers and to assist the potty training toddlers in perfecting the routine. We also keep a potty schedule posted near the lavatory for parents' review of their child's potty sessions with both the time and date posted alongside each child's name. Toddlers who are in the potty training stage are required to wear pullups.
HOLIDAYS:
The following holidays will be paid with the regular weekly rate even though child care, preschool and transportation services will NOT be offered on these days (i.e. There will be no discount in fees for the weeks in which these holidays occur):

FIELD TRIPS:
We find it safer for children to remain at the facility while under our care at Tot Spot Daycare and Preschool. However, on occasions we may walk to the local park which is about 3 blocks away from the facility. However, during weekend care on Saturdays and/or Sundays when preschool curricula are not offered (at least not at this time), field trips to educational or recreational facilities may be scheduled. In this event, parents will be notified in advance.
10 FREE VACATION DAYS PER YEAR BENEFIT:

Healthy meals for breakfast, lunch (and dinner for extended care clients) and, a morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Each meal will be served with two choices of vegetables and/or fruits, and 2% milk and/or water. Therefore, there will be no chocolate, candy or sugary treats served at Tot Spot Daycare and Preschool, Inc., and only 100% juice will be served. Additionally, we intend to keep products with HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) to a minimum.

Parents will provide particular infant cereal, jar food, formula and bottles, however, bottles will be provided with sterilized nipples when necessary. All infants, who are unable to hold a bottle, will be held by staff of Tot Spot Daycare and Preschool, with absolutely no exceptions. Once infants are started on solids they are fed in highchairs.
Infants 12-18 months: Whole milk is served in a sippy cup and infants eat their meals sitting in a highchair.
18 months: Transition period - toddlers sit at the table with silverware/plasticware and a cup.
